What a website costs. And every other price we charge.
A website is £295 to set up and £99 a month on the small plan, or £995 to set up and £149, £299 or £499 a month on the three bigger ones. The AI receptionist is £199 to set up and £45 a month on top of any of them. Everything else we sell has a number further down this page.
The same prices whether you are a trade, a salon, a practice or any other local service business. There is no VAT to add, because we are not registered for it. Nobody is quoted a different number. The monthly is rolling, so the work has to keep earning it every month.
Can I buy the website and the AI receptionist together?
Yes. Four packages, from £45 a month for your phone answered to £429 a month for the website, the back office and every channel. Every figure is a month, and every one is the plain sum of its parts.
Not a penny comes off any monthly. A pound off a monthly is a pound off every month you stay. So what a package saves you is the setup fee.
On Answer Plus and on Found that saving is £244: the £199 setup for the AI receptionist, and the £45 setup for the channel. Every setup fee is published further down this page.
Built around your team, not instead of them. She answers what nobody got to, so the people you already pay spend their day on the work that earns.
What each step up buys
- £45 to £68 is £276 a year, and it buys WhatsApp: every message on the app your customers already use, answered.
- £68 to £167 is £1,188 a year, and it buys the website: hosting, your Google and Bing listings, and a change every month.
- £167 to £429 is £3,144 a year, and it buys the back office, the site designed round your business, and four more channels.
What does a small business website cost?
A setup fee once, then a monthly fee for as long as you want somebody working on it. Four plans, and the thing that changes between them is how much gets done for you every month.
For somebody who needs a proper site and nothing else yet.

- Hosting, security, backups and the certificate
- Your Google and Bing profiles built, working and linked to your site
- Analytics and Search Console, in your name

For a business that wants the site designed round it and a few towns covered.

Why the setup fee is smaller on Starter. Starter is our layout in your branding, so the build is a day rather than a fortnight, and the price says so. The other three are designed for your business from a blank page, and that is the same amount of work whichever monthly you go on to pick, which is why all three are £995 to set up.
What does an AI receptionist cost?
Start with your phone answered for £45 a month. Then add whichever other places you want covered, at £23 a month each, or take all five for £85.
One. What answers your phone
Two. Then pick where else it answers
Take more than one and it comes down. Any two together are £42 a month instead of £46. Any four are £79 instead of £92. All five are £85 instead of £115, so the more you cover the less each one costs you. Setting each one up is £45, and that is waived on Growth and on Full, so on those two plans you only ever pay the monthly.
Three. The only two things that are not a flat price
You can buy it on its own. No website, no care plan and nothing else required, at the same £45 a month. Or add it to any of the four plans, including Starter, and the price is the same whichever one you are on. See how it actually answers.
What else can I buy, and what does it cost?
Buy any of it on any plan, at the published price, on top of whatever you are on.
What do people ask about the money?
What happens after you get in touch, step by step, including when the money actually moves.
Every answer says what it depends on and gives you the figure.
What do I actually pay on day one?
Nothing. You set up the Direct Debit when you sign, and nothing is collected until your site is live. The monthly begins the day it goes live rather than the day you say yes. So you are never paying for something you cannot look at yet, and if you change your mind before launch you have not spent anything.
Do I pay VAT on top of these prices?
No. Foothold AI is not registered for VAT, so there is nothing to add and there is no VAT line on the invoice. Every figure on this page is the figure that leaves your bank. If that ever changes you will be told before it does, in writing, rather than finding it at the bottom of a bill.
It is worth checking on any quote you get. Publishing a price excluding VAT is normal in this market and it is a fifth on top. One UK firm's own price page, read on 30 August 2026, lists work from £3,500 and states "All prices exclude VAT". That is £4,200 payable.
What does the monthly cover, and what stays yours?
The hosting, the security, the backups, the certificate and the work are all in the monthly. Three things stay in your own name, and they are the same three on every plan.
- Your domain name, which is a few pounds a year and stays in your own name because it is your business identity.
- Your advertising budget, if you run ads, which goes straight to Google and never through us.
- Anything that costs money every time it happens, which today means the AI receptionist's phone minutes past your 150 and the texts it sends for you. The minutes are itemised on your bill so you can see exactly what you used, and the texts go on at what they cost us with nothing added.
Can I add the AI receptionist to any plan?
Yes, including Starter. The AI receptionist is £199 to set up and £45 a month, whichever plan you are on. The work of setting it up does not change. If you take extra extras and you are on Growth or Full, the £45 setup on each of them is waived, so the only thing you pay is the £23 a month.
Why are the minutes counted at all?
So you only ever pay for the ones you really use. A hundred and fifty minutes of call time are included every month.
Anything past that is 15p a minute, on its own line on the bill, so you can see exactly what it was.
Why is there a setup fee at all?
It buys the build. The design, the writing and the pages. Your Google side set up properly in your own name, and everything moved across from your old site without your email going down.
Both numbers are on this page so you can see exactly what each one is for. It is not a deposit and it is not a joining fee.
Why publish your prices when almost nobody else does?
Because you should be able to work out what this costs at eleven at night, without giving anybody your number.
Thirteen firms in this market were measured on 13 August 2026 and one published a figure. The other twelve want a phone call first.
What six other UK AI receptionists charge, with the date each figure was read off their own page.
Will an assistant tell somebody what this costs?
Only where the number is on the page. Somebody comparing three firms asks an assistant what each one charges, and the answer is assembled out of whatever could be read. A price behind a form is not a price anything can quote, which is most of this market.
- Every figure above is plain text on a public page, which is what makes it matchable at all. It is also why we publish them rather than asking you to ring first.
- What each price covers is written down in the same plain text, so nobody arrives expecting the wrong thing.
- What we show you is your own Search Console figures, which are real, yours and free. You can see what people actually searched for to find you.
You know the price. Want to know if it is worth it?
Tell us what you do and where, and you will get a straight answer about which plan fits. There is a fixed written quote before anything starts, and nothing to pay for the conversation.
