Lead generation websites that win work for UK trades and local services.
Not a smart looking brochure that sits there doing nothing. A website built to bring you work: written for what you actually do, built to be found on Google, and arranged so that somebody landing on it picks up the phone. We build it, we set the whole thing up, and we show you the one screen you run it from.
Suffolk and north Essex, and anywhere in the UK you can reach. Prices published. No contract. You own the site and the data from day one.
The problem every local business has
Somebody needs you today. They search on their phone at half nine at night and open several sites. They ring whoever answers the four things they came for fastest.
If your site makes them hunt for what you do, whether you cover them, roughly what it costs and how to reach you, they are gone before you ever knew they were there. You do not lose that job on price. You lose it in the seconds before they had a reason to stay.

How does it work?
You may have been sold a website before and then left to work out the rest of it on your own. Not here. Two of these three are our job, and the third one is the work turning up.
We look at your patch first
Your trade or service, your area, who you are up against, and the words your customers really type. The site gets built round the searches that bring actual work, not the ones that sound impressive.
We build it around your jobs
A page for each job you do, named the way a customer names it down the phone. Written for your business and your area. No template with the name swapped, and nothing generic.
The work starts coming in
People find you, and they call, text or send the form. If you have your AI receptionist switched on it answers them for you. If not, they land on one screen and you answer from there.
What you get
Every one of these is in the price on this page. None of it is an extra, and none of it is a thing you have to know to ask for. See a site we have built, page by page.
A page for every job you do
Named the way a customer says it down the phone, not the way the trade says it. Nobody has ever searched for solutions.
A page for the areas you really work
One good page for a town you know beats twenty that all say the same thing with the name swapped. Google filters the twenty out before they ever compete.
Built to be found from day one
Every word is there the moment Google looks at it. Plenty of cheap sites hide theirs behind something that has to load first, and it never gets found.
Made for a phone first
Your customers find you on a phone, one handed, standing up. Your number is big enough to press with a thumb on every screen, and never buried in a menu.
A form that cannot lose you a job
The second they press send it is safe, even if your email is having a bad morning. Nothing falls down the back, ever.
Every page pointed at one thing
Something to press on every page, in the same place, saying what happens when you press it. A page with nothing to do on it is a page that earns nothing.
Your Google page saying the same thing
Same name, same number, same jobs as the site. That match is a lot of what puts you in the map when somebody searches nearby, and I do it myself.
Your Bing page done as well
Set up the same way. It costs nothing to claim, and it is what feeds ChatGPT and Copilot.
One list instead of your inbox
Every enquiry in one place, with what you said and what happens next. No scrolling back through email at ten at night looking for a name. Your team gets the app that goes with it.
What does it cost, and what is in each plan?
Four plans, a one-off to build it and a monthly to run it. Every price is on this page and it is the same for everybody. Every plan gets worked on every month.
For somebody who needs a proper site and nothing else yet.
- Four pages, our layout in your colours and your photographs
- Hosting, security, backups and the certificate
- Local SEO every month, and enquiries straight to your inbox
- Your Google and Bing profiles built and linked, in your name
- No town pages, no back office
For a business that wants the site designed round it and a few towns covered.
- Everything in Starter
- Designed for your business, not a recoloured template
- Up to 5 town pages
- Changes as you need them, not one a month
- A monthly report you can actually read
- No back office
For when the paperwork is the problem, not the website.
- Everything in Essential
- The full back office, built for your business, with a written guide for your staff
- Up to 15 town pages, and new pages and content every month
- Review requests handled
- Ten minutes on the phone every month
- Listed where customers actually look, your trade register, your suppliers' installer finders and the local business lists. The ones a customer would use, never bought links
- Google and Bing looked after every month, so both stay right rather than being filled in once and forgotten
Everything, including the photography, the print and the app.
- Everything in Growth
- A half-day photo shoot every year, your work, your team and your place
- Your logo, cards and flyer designed, print ready, refreshed every year
- The staff phone app for your people on the road
- One local mention chased every month, a sponsorship, a community page or the local paper. Anything we pay for is declared as paid, and you get the list
- Answered the same working day, and 20 minutes on the phone a month
The part that is the same on all four
Built in as standard
Because leaving these out is how a cheap site gets built
Nothing to pay yet, and nothing to sign. The Start here button opens a few questions, and you get a fixed written quote before any work starts. Not ready for that? Email hello@footholdai.co.uk and ask anything you like.
Extras, on any plan

What you get →
from £250Photography, a full day
Your work, your team and your place, shot properly and put on the site for you. It is the one thing on this page a competitor cannot copy off you.
What a day covers →
from £495The staff phone app
Their jobs, the address, the customer, and work marked done with photographs. It installs on the phone next to the dialler rather than being a bookmark nobody finds.
What your people see →
£495 then £199 a monthGoogle Ads, set up and run
Above the normal results from the day it goes live. Turn it up for a quiet fortnight and down when the diary fills. Your budget is separate and goes straight to Google, and the account is yours.
How it works →
£295Google and Bing profiles on their own
For somebody who does not want a website yet. Set up properly in your own name, on the map, with the photos and the services filled in.
What we do to it →We take nothing on the printing and nothing on your ad budget. You order the print and pay the printer direct, and your Google Ads budget is separate, it is yours, and it goes straight to Google. What each one includes is on the price page.
The AI, on top of any planA website cannot answer the phone. The AI receptionist can.
She is £199 to set up and £45 a month, on top of whichever plan above you are on. Custom AI built into how you work is quoted per project, once we have seen how you actually run.
- Every call you cannot take is a job somebody else got. You are with a customer, driving, or somewhere you simply cannot stop, so the person ringing tries the next name on the list. The AI receptionist answers instead, takes the details and puts the job on your list. It is £199 to set up and £45 a month, and every figure for it is on the price page.
- Nobody can price software for a job they have never watched you do. That is why custom AI carries no figure here, and it is not us being cagey. We sit with the people doing the work, map the process as it really runs, and give you a fixed written quote before anything is built. That track is here, and it is a separate conversation from a website.
Built for your trade or your service
Every trade and every local service loses work in a different place, so every one of these is written for that trade rather than being this page with the word swapped.
Not sure whether we cover what you do? We work with all sorts of local businesses, trades and services alike, and the list above is nowhere near all of them. Ask us and you will get a straight answer in about a minute, and it costs nothing.
Why does a local business website bring in no work?
Because it was never built to bring any in. There is nothing in it worth reading, so nobody reads it.
- A template from years ago, with the business name dropped into it.
- Bought photographs of somebody else's work, somewhere else.
- Words that would describe any business, in any trade, in any country.
Your website should work as hard as you do. It should be found on Google, it should turn the people who land on it into enquiries, and it should make your business look as good as it actually is. That is the whole job, and the design is the smallest part of it.
What people ask before they buy
Every one of these is about this page and nothing else, including the ones with awkward answers. A question I dodge now is one you ask again in six months with more at stake.
What exactly is a lead generation website?
A lead generation website is one where every page is arranged to produce an enquiry rather than to describe a business. It is not the design and it is not the number of pages.
It is whether somebody landing anywhere on it can tell in seconds what you do, whether you cover them, roughly what it costs and how to reach you in one tap. Put an AI receptionist behind it and the enquiries get answered as well as collected.
How does it compare to an ordinary website?
An ordinary site sold to a local business is a brochure: home, about, services, contact. It looks finished, which is a different job from bringing in work, and it appears nowhere on Google because there is nothing on it to rank.
The differences that pay are boring ones: the answer at the top instead of the bottom, headings that are questions people actually type, your number visible on a phone, a form that still works on one bar of signal, and the enquiry landing on one list instead of an email buried by lunchtime.
Is a lead generation website worth it for a small business?
It is worth it if people are already finding you and not ringing, because that problem is on the page and the page is the thing I change. If nobody is finding you at all, a new site on its own will not fix that, and anybody quoting you a number of leads is guessing.
What a good site does have over paying a directory is that the work it brings in does not cost you again every time somebody clicks. Run the free website check and you will know which of the two problems you have before you spend anything.
Which type of business is a lead generation website designed for?
Any trade or local service whose website has never produced a single enquiry. The web designer delivered what they were paid for, a handful of tidy pages, and nobody mentioned that a page saying what you do is not the same as a page that answers what somebody typed.
What replaces it is depth on the things you really do, a page for each job and a page for each area you can genuinely say something about. What we will not do is build a page for every service crossed with every town, and the next question says why.
How many pages do I get?
Around thirty that each say something, rather than three hundred that do not. Somebody will offer you a page for every service crossed with every town, and it is the fastest way to get a local business buried.
Google filters those pages out before they ever compete, so three hundred of them win you nothing and cost you every month.
A page for each job you do, a page for the areas you can say something true about, and the questions your customers actually ask, all beat it.
How does it compare to a Wix or Squarespace site I build myself?
A builder gives you pages. It does not give you the back office, and it does not write the page per job that gets you found. You also cannot take a page-builder subscription anywhere: stop paying and the site goes. Yours is yours, in your name, from day one.
How long before it starts bringing work in?
If people are already finding you and not ringing, the page is the thing that changes, and it changes the day it goes live.
Getting found from nothing is slower and depends on your area and who else is at it, and so a date for that is guesswork. Ask on the call and you will get a straight answer about which one you are.
Will an AI assistant be able to read my site?
Yes, because every word arrives in the page itself. People increasingly ask an assistant instead of scrolling, and it reads a handful of sites to build the reply.
Google says plainly that not everything reading a site can run the clever bits. A site that keeps its words behind them may not be read at all. We check yours the same way, with all the clever bits switched off.
What decides whether an assistant names you is a page of its own, with what getting found means now and where the work goes.
Do I own the website?
Yes. The site is yours, on your domain, and everything in it is yours, in your name, from day one. There is no minimum term and no twelve month contract. Ask every supplier you talk to this one, and listen carefully to the answer.
How long does it take to build?
From two weeks, and how far past that depends on the size of the site and how much you want built into it. Send six good photographs off your phone in the first week and it moves at our speed. Everything else is on us. I can shoot them for you, priced separately and published, but six good ones off your phone beat anything bought.
The whole thing, step by step, is written out in order: what happens on the call, when you sign off the design, and when the money moves.
Will my old web address still work?
Yes. Every address you have now keeps working or gets pointed at the right new page. This is the part that goes wrong most often in a rebuild, and when it does you lose the rankings you already had along with the addresses.
What happens to my email when the site moves?
Nothing, if it is done properly. Email and the website are separate records on the domain and only the website ones change. It is checked before anything moves and again after.
Can I change the words myself afterwards?
The blog you publish yourself from your own screen. Page copy, tell me and it is usually done the same day. You are not locked out of your own site.
Is hosting included?
Hosting and the certificate are in the monthly. The domain is separate and stays in your name, which matters the day you ever want to leave.
What will you talk me out of?
A page for every town within fifty miles. Buying links. A blog post a week about nothing. A chat box on a site with forty visits a month. Every one of those is sold hard in this market and none of them works.
What else might you need?
The website is one of four. It brings the work in, and the other three decide what happens to it after that.
AI receptionist
Your website brings the work in, and your phone rings first. Your AI receptionist takes the ones you cannot get to, on seven channels, evenings and weekends included. Together they are the whole thing, start to finish.
AI marketing
Turn the jobs you have finished into the reason somebody rings you next. Photos in, marketing out, and your Google and Bing pages kept fed.
Custom AI implementations
Built around the way your business actually runs. We map it first, then quote a fixed price before anybody builds a thing.
What else is worth reading?
Every page here answers one question properly rather than skimming five. These are the others, and each one says what it is before you click it.
Foothold AI: websites and AI for local service businesses
A website that gets found, a back office that runs the day, and an app for your team. From £295 to set up and £99 a month. Suffolk based, UK wide.
Where we work: Suffolk and north Essex
Twenty towns across Suffolk and north Essex, from Sudbury. Most are twenty or thirty minutes away, and the person who builds your site comes out.
AI implementation for UK businesses
We build AI into how UK businesses actually work: quoting, chasing, scheduling and reading documents. Scoped first, fixed-quoted before any build.
Websites for electricians that bring in work
A website for an electrician, the back office it feeds and the app your engineers use on site. Published prices, no lock-in, and you own it all.
Is nobody finding you, or are they finding you and not ringing?
Nobody finding you and nobody ringing you are two completely different problems, and only one of them is fixed by a website. I would rather find out which one you have before you spend anything.
From £295 to set up and £99 a month, rolling, with no minimum term. Every price we charge is on one page.
Twenty minutes with Chad. Nothing to pay and nothing to sign. Or run the free website check on the site you have now first.
