About Foothold AI. Who actually answers when you ring.
Foothold AI is one person in Sudbury, Suffolk, building websites, back offices and AI workers for UK small businesses, trades and local services. When you ring the number or send the email, it is me who answers, and it is me who builds the thing.
No call centre, no account manager, and nobody who will have left by the time your site goes live.

Who actually answers when you ring?
I am Chad Brown. I am in Sudbury, Suffolk, and when you ring that number or send that email, it is me who answers. Not a call centre, not an account manager, and not somebody who will have left by the time your site goes live.
I have spent four years putting AI into real businesses, my own and other people's. Not reselling somebody else's chatbot. The websites, the back office, the app on your team's phones and the AI receptionist are all built here, by me, which is why I can tell you what a thing will actually do on a Tuesday morning.
My title is AI Architect. I work out what AI should actually do in your business, then build the thing that does it. I connect it to the information you already have, keep that secure, and hold it to the rules you set. Then I make sure it still works on your busiest week.
Areas of expertise: AI strategy and architecture, specialising in turning business goals into scalable, secure LLM/ML solutions. Proficient in solution design, data pipelines, MLOps, model governance, and cloud-native deployment.
The AI receptionist has a published price and custom AI is quoted per project. Every AI system I sell is one I have built and run myself first. You get told plainly what it does, exactly what it covers, and what it costs to run.
The part that matters just as much as the technology is ordinary and unfashionable: knowing how a local service business actually works. The phone that goes unanswered because you were under a bonnet. The job written on the back of an envelope. Good software for a local business is not clever, it is built by somebody who understood the day.
One client at a time, finished properly. Suffolk based, UK wide.
Why would you normally need two firms?
The web agency cannot build the AI. The AI agency does not want to build your website, sort your Google and Bing listings, or turn up and photograph your work. So you end up managing both, and they blame each other.
| A web agency | An AI agency | Foothold AI | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your website | yes | no | yes |
| Local SEO and your Google listing | yes | no | yes |
| A back office that runs the work | no | sometimes | yes |
| An app for your team's phones | no | no | yes |
| Photographs of your actual work | no | no | yes |
| Logo, cards and flyers designed | sometimes | no | yes |
| An AI receptionist on seven channels | no | yes | yes |
| Enquiry chasing and review requests | no | sometimes | yes |
| AI built into how the work runs | no | yes | yes |
One person who understands both ends of it, so the website, the back office, the app and the AI are built as one system. All four services, and what each one is for.
Four rules I run this on
How somebody behaves when your money is on the table tells you more than any list of services. Here are the four I hold to, and every one of them is already published somewhere else on this site.
Everything I sell is running in my own business first
Everything on this site is running in my own business before it is offered to yours. You get the version I already rely on every day. How a project actually runs.
Your money goes on the towns you really cover
A page is built for a place you genuinely work in, because Google filters out the ones aimed at towns you do not, so those win you nothing. The budget goes further on the places that actually bring you jobs. What each extra costs.
You get the thing that fixes it fastest
Want the phone answered and the enquiries in one place? That is the AI receptionist, £199 to set up and £45 a month. It is a fraction of the cost of a custom build. What it answers, and what it costs.
One client at a time, finished properly
It is why the phone gets answered by the person who actually built the thing. It is also why your build gets the whole of somebody's attention. When it is your turn, it is your turn. How a build runs, step by step.
